Abstract

This paper explores the influence of contemporary art in Ecuadorian education. In the introduction, the importance
of art in education is discussed and the purpose of the research is established. The literature review includes a discussion of art
education in Ecuador, the definition of contemporary art and its role in education, and a review of existing literature on the
subject. The search methodology is described in detail, including the inclusion and exclusion criteria used to select the reviewed
studies. The research results suggest that the inclusion of contemporary art in education has been beneficial in many ways,
including promoting critical thinking, creativity, and addressing social and political issues in schools. In addition, it has been
shown that contemporary art can be an effective tool to improve art education in the country. The discussion addresses both
the benefits and challenges of including contemporary art in Ecuadorian education, including the lack of resources and adequate
training for teachers and resistance from some teachers and administrators. Finally, the conclusions highlight the importance
of continuing to promote the inclusion of contemporary art in Ecuadorian education and addressing the challenges identified
to ensure effective and comprehensive teaching of contemporary art in schools. It is hoped that this research will be useful to
educators, students, and others interested in the field of art and education in Ecuador, and that it will serve as a foundation for
future research in this area.
