Impact of the social and family environment on the development of the personality of children aged 0-7 year

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to analyze the impact of the social and family environment on the development
of the personality of children from 0 to 7 years of age. To achieve this, a bibliographic review of previous studies on the subject
was carried out, including a total of 12 investigations carried out in different regions of Latin America and published between
2006 and 2021. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between the family social climate and the
development of personality in children and adolescents, especially with regard to self-esteem, empathy, resilience and the
ability to establish healthy social relationships. Likewise, it is evident that parenting styles and the quality of the parent-child
relationship have a direct impact on the socio-emotional development of children and their ability to face adverse situations. It
was also found that breastfeeding has a protective effect on the development of atopic dermatitis and that strengthening social
skills can improve the development of children from dysfunctional homes. It is concluded that the social and family
environment is a key factor in the development of the personality of children from 0 to 7 years of age and that it is important
to pay attention to the quality of the relationship and the social climate at home to promote healthy socio-emotional
development. of the kids. In addition, the implementation of educational programs for parents and caregivers that promote a
positive and healthy environment for early childhood development is suggested.
